In September, the leaves begin to change below an altitude of 3,000m, spreading down to the plains by mid-November.
This golden season is a perfect time to view the stunning scenery.
Hiking is also possible and a fantastic view of Mount Kitadake can be seen from the Yashajintoge mountain pass.
Another great viewing spot, easily accessible by car, is that of Inagako Lake, which looks like it has been dyed red and yellow due the reflection off of the water.
Around this time of year the rice fields also display a beautiful golden color.
This season is greeted by fruits such as apples, grapes, and pears.
These, along with other fresh produce, can either be bought from the locals, or picked from the fields.
